Looks like I spoke too soon, now my game has started on all of the files refusing to let the Supernatural Sims I create do anything Supernatural. If you can keep your saves clean, use "repaired" maps for EA worlds (thanks ellacharmed!), and custom worlds that are well made without major routing issues, it really can run just fine. And yes, stuff like AM/Overwatch/ScriptError can go a long way to improving overall performance.

I haven't used Awesome in many years, but it does a nightly cleanup like NRaas Overwatch does as well? Good to know. Originally, I was going to throw another one in for SLI, then the 900 series came out and tempted me, and then I realized that as long as I played everything at only 1080p and am not upgrading monitors anytime soon, my frame rates in all my games were just fine. I did find that using the Awesomemod to clean up the neighborhood at 3am for unroutable sims, deleting unused cars, and managing non-attended lots running tv/radio helped a lot, too.Ī Nvidia TITAN with 16 GB VRAM and it still takes a few seconds for texture loads? Damn their code is poorly optimized. Like eskie said, it's more often bad or conflicting custom content/mods. Honestly, even when I was on a lower-end system a few years ago, it was rarely the expansions that caused issues. Once in a while I'll get a few seconds of texture loads when I'm switching around lots of environments, but it's not that out of hand. No problems running all expansions, plus NRAAS and massive set of packages and downloads here. If the change somehow pauses the world or only speed up your household, while leaving the open world on a slower speed, this might be a possible fix for people with faster CPUs who are having severe pulse/chop lag. You still get 60 FPS, but it is choppy and pulsy b/c of the constant HDD cycles.īut again, I'm not sure what you changed. If your CPU speed exceed the HDD threshold, the faster your CPU the choppier your game. This is the reason why there's a balance between the CPU speed and the HDD speed. This slows down the game and creates bottleneck (when your HDD cannot keep up). This means that when you speed up the factor of the game, the whole game runs at a faster pace. However, it is probably worth noting that TS3 is an open world engine, unlike TS2 or TS4. Not entirely sure what factors you changed. Your system will eventually start caching the OS pagefile, then you'll have dual caching with your TS3 cache.Įdit: changed triple time rate and skip time rate to 100 and it seems to work so far, I'm getting up to 60 fps on speed 3

If you're running with less than 6GB of RAM, there is absolutely no way for you to run it "smoothly," imho.
